Definition of Gas Laws
Definition of Gas LawsAlthough science was created by natural processes, many people do not feel that the gases we breathe have a chemical definition. The definition of a gas is a mix of three basic elements, namely oxygen, nitrogen and carbon. Each of these components has their own specific composition, properties and characteristics. This is why it is necessary to study the chemistry of gases.Gas laws are one method used to analyze the chemistry of gases. The definition of gases is also one of the oldest methods of science. Back in the pre-scientific age, the wind, water and sunlight were using to create an atmosphere, where the free-flowing particles interacted with each other. These interactions were known as gases. Over time, new gases were discovered, and some scientists devised the method of definition to describe these new elements. The classification of gases was based on the composition of these substances. The weight of the gases depended on their temperature. For example, the lighter the gas, the lower its temperature and pressure. Since the composition of the gas can be determined by its chemical properties, this was used to calculate the velocity of gas, mass and volume.Another aspect of the definition is that the temperature of the gas changes when it passes through different temperatures. This was used to determine the density of the gas. Since the gas is heavier at higher temperatures, the density is also higher. The next law was to define the molecular weight of the gas. This law was used to determine the volume of the gas, and therefore, determine the heat capacity of the gas.The definition was useful when there were two or more gases of the same composition and no one had been discovered yet. The gases would all be lighter at the same temperature and both of them would behave as if they were the same. When a gas is lighter, it means that it has more air molecules than it contains molecules of oxygen. Therefore, it is lighter than water. In the case of absolute zero (0 degrees Celsius), the process becomes complicated because there is no specific equation for this temperature. The only method used to describe this temperature is to give a constant density, a constant volume and a constant heat capacity. The latter three variables were already defined as part of the definition of gases. The definition of gases has evolved over time to include elements, molecular structures, properties and even concepts like equilibrium. It still is a fundamental law in many aspects of science. Nowadays, there are even other applications of this concept, including industrial gas law, reaction between gases and industrial process.

Tips for Teens with ADHD Procrastination Busters
Tips for Teens with ADHD Procrastination Busters In my last post I talked about reasons why ADHD and procrastination often go hand-in-hand. ADHD tendencies like preferring instant rewards over long-term payoffs, difficulty with time management, feeling overwhelmed and not knowing where to start, low self-confidence, and being easily distracted all contribute to difficulties with procrastination. Take a minute to read thought my last post and see if any of these ADHD tendencies apply to you. Once you understand why you procrastinate youll be able to take some simple steps to stop the procrastination cycle. Start with one or two of the procrastination busters below that you think might be most helpful for you. With the right strategies for you and your ADHD youll be able to stopping putting off all of those things that you should be doing today! Start small. Combat feelings of being overwhelmed by starting assignments quickly and starting small. The number one thing that I have seen help teens (and adults) with ADHD who procrastinate is starting on a project, essay, or study plan shortly after it has been assigned. The longer you wait the harder it is to get started. Getting started can just mean spending as little as 5 or 10 minutes working - just enough to make a dent in the assignment or task. Getting started builds your confidence and makes the task much easier to begin again when youre ready to work for a longer stretch of time. Create checklists. Many assignments and study plans will seem overwhelming when you think about them as a whole. But, when you break them down into smaller parts theyll start to seem much more doable. Break each assignment or study plan down into a checklist of manageable steps, and cross items off your list as you complete them. Not sure how to break an assignment down into smaller pieces? Start by thinking about the very first thing you need to do. Maybe it is reading a chapter and taking notes. Then think about the next step - review the notes and identify an essay theme; and then the next step create an essay outline, etc. Before you know it youll have a full list. If youre still not sure how to break an assignment down, ask for help from a teacher or friend. You might need some guidance before youre ready to do it on your own. Feed the need for instant gratification. Assignments, projects, and tests will always come with delayed rewards. Keep yourself motivated by giving yourself rewards along the way. Rewards can be things you like to do or things you want to buy. If theres a show that you really like to watch or a videogame that you love to play, consider only allowing yourself to watch it or play it whenever you finish an assignment. Other times, keep it off limits. If there is something you would really like to buy, ask your parents if theyll help by contributing money toward the item every time you complete an assignment or study for a test in advance. Sometimes having someone else in charge of handing out your rewards can be helpful, especially if you think youll be tempted to reward yourself even when you havent really earned it. Avoid procrastination triggers. Whats the number one thing you do when you procrastinate? Are you on your phone? Playing a videogame? Hanging out with friends? Whatever it is, it will continue to trigger procrastination as long as its around when you should be working. In many ways procrastination is a habit, and triggers make all habits harder to break. So, put your phone in another room even if its only for 30 minutes, dont allow yourself to play the videogame until youve finished your work, or go to a quiet place away from friends until youve accomplished what you need to get done. If websites are your trigger and you need to use your computer to do your work, then consider using a temporary website blocking app that you control. Ill review my favorite apps in my next post. Get help when you need it. Reaching your full potential with ADHD means having to rely on other people to help you accomplish some of your goals. When it comes to long-term projects or subjects that are a struggle, ask for help if youre not making progress on your own. If you have been planning to start studying for the SATs for months but havent even looked at a single vocabulary word, then chances are youre going to need someone to help you create and stick with a study plan. If you feel like youre falling behind in a subject and this is making it harder than ever to finish assignments on time, then talk to your teacher or find a tutor. Everyone does better when they have someone to help them get started, stay on task, and catch up on material they may have missed or dont understand. With ADHD having someone to help is even more important, so dont go it alone. Sometimes something as simple as asking a friend to call and remind you to get to work can go a long way. ABOUT DR. What To Do When You Hate Your Job
What To Do When You Hate Your Job via Pixabay Its tough to decide whether or not you should stay where youre unhappy. Its scary to be without a job and its even scarier to change careers. So how do you know how to handle your current job situation? Here are a few things to consider: Can you make your situation better? Sometimes, speaking to a supervisor can smooth over a lot of problems. Whether youre unhappy because of a fellow coworker, your schedule, or the overall office morale, if your unhappiness can be made better through a conversation with your boss, I would absolutely try that route first. Are you in any position to be unemployed? Do you have enough savings to support yourself while youre looking for another job if you quit? If you cant, definitely dont leave the job where youre unhappy. Try job searching while youre still employed. Minimizing the time between paychecks will definitely pay off. Are you qualified to do something else? Making a career change is pretty scary, but sometimes necessary. Are you ready to do something else with your life? Something youre (hopefully) already qualified for? If youre unhappy in your current job because you simply dont like what you do, its time to reassess what your options are. Maybe its time to look into changing your career. Is it because of your location? Are you unhappy in your job because of where youre located? Sometimes companies will transfer employees. It might make things less stressful if you keep working for the same company and just move locations! What not to do: Dont tell the world. You can do a quick search on Twitter for I hate my job and youll see how many people decide to declare to the world that theyre unhappy. If youre truly hating every moment of working, keep it to yourself. Sure, close friends and family are bound to notice you hate your job, but posting it on social media or complaining over the internet isnt the best way to handle it. Plus, your anger will follow you wherever you go once its on the internet Good luck getting another job. Dont disappear. No matter how badly you want to, dont ghost your employer. Give them two weeks notice, like the classy person that you are. If you dont, putting your past employment on your next job application isnt going to be good for you. Dont drown in unhappiness. If you focus on the fact that youre always unhappy, youll be absolutely miserable. Try to focus on the happy parts of your life. If you hate your job, focus on your friendships, social life, and assets. What to do next: Think about your career plans. Where do you want to be in the next five years? Do you want to be in an entirely different field? If you arent on track to find your self-fulfilling career goal, its time for a change. Write down your plans and set small, attainable deadlines. Keep yourself in check by posting it somewhere you can see it frequently. Its important to keep your eyes on the prize. Talk to your supervisor. If youve made the decision to leave your job, an exit interview can be a good idea. Your supervisor will want to know what it was about the job that you didnt enjoy. Maybe you have some input on hiring the next person to fill your shoes. Maybe you have some insight on parts of the job that were hard to do because of the processes that are in place. Youre the expert at your job share the information you have in a professional way and your supervisor is sure to appreciate it. Start job searching. The job hunt isnt always the most fun thing to spend your time doing. However, if youre going to leave your current position, its time to start looking for a way to keep paying the bills. The last thing you need is for your water to get shut off. Above all, remember: You arent the only one. There are plenty of people who are unhappy with their current job. Jump on Twitter and realize how many people spend the majority of their daily lives thinking about being in another job or another career. Stay professional. You dont want to leave a sour taste in the mouth of your boss. The last thing you need is a bad reference or ill words about you and your behavior. The way you handle this says a lot about your character. No matter how unhappy or angry you get, keep your cool.

Chemistry Combustion - How it Can Help You
Chemistry Combustion - How it Can Help YouChemistry combustion refers to the process in which chemicals react in an environment to produce heat. The process starts with a chemical compound called an oxidant and the gas phase called a clean agent. The reactants become unstable and burn with the heat produced. Chemical reactions occur on a microscopic level in the atmosphere because of the varying levels of oxygen present in the air.Heat from chemical combustion is commonly felt in areas where there is windy conditions. Windy conditions create turbulent conditions, which allow the volatile molecules of the gas to mix. This mixing produces more combustible gases that can then reach the surface. The first reason that a person would look into how to control chemical combustion is because they want to enjoy more space while driving. When it comes to cold temperatures, you don't need to waste your precious fuel.Another common example is when people use the sulfuric acid in home remedies or detergents to clean up their homes. The sulfurous properties allow the cleaning agent to react with the cleaning solvent, which will combine all together, resulting in a beautiful odorless, colorless liquid. The combination of chemicals is what results in the reaction between the cleaner and the cleaning solvent. The use of gas chromatography and high-speed processing equipment has changed the way that people experience some types of chemical reactions. This process involves a chemical compound to be put through the different stages of the chemical process. Once the compound is put through the process, the components of the compound are separated and placed in different bottles that have the specific numbers so that the mixture can be analyzed. The large company that manufactures the equipment has a wide range of products that will help you analyze this compound. There are tests that you can do to test for the reaction time and other variables that can affect the reaction and that you can even add your own customized tests to help you understand the reaction. Since this process is going to be used in your business, you want to ensure that you are fully familiar with the software. This procedure also allows a chemist to separate the compound to be used into smaller parts that are easier to handle. The larger compound makes for more expensive work and this is where the cleaning and the analysis come in. This method allows the product to be cut into pieces that can be easily handled. It also allows the work to be done at a higher speed. When you start talking about this procedure, the application of chemicals is not the only thing that is involved. You will need to take care of the clean up. This can include any type of cleaning fluids that the product may require and you will need to remove the contaminants. In some cases, there are quite a few that you will need to deal with.
